Harvesting- It's Hard Work
Updated: May 31, 2020

In preparation of 2019 spring, my dad and I recovered and taped my leaking #greenhouse. It's been only seven months and the natural elements beat my greenhouse up. As you can see, I've reorganized and have spinach to be harvested. It was my first time and it was back breaking work. I took this experience to have a new appreciation and respect for the farm workers. It took about three hours to pull out, take off all the roots, wash it and dry it. It produced a box that normally costs $4.99 at Safeway.
As I was cleaning it, I thought to myself, I better not waste it and was thinking of my menu for the next two weeks. For starters, my mom will make some spinach and cheese pupusas. Then I'll have some spinach salad with Fuji apples and walnuts. And if I make turkey meatballs and steamed spinach with nutmeg, I think it'll all be used.
